Men’s Health Month: Holding Space for Real Conversations, Real Healing

June is Men’s Health Month, and at FIERCE, we’re using this moment to spotlight what it really means for men, especially men of color, to live whole, healthy lives. But this message isn’t just for men. It’s for anyone who cares about a brother, father, partner, son, friend, or colleague and wants to support their wellness.

Far too often, men are taught to power through pain, swallow emotions, and carry the load alone. But health is more than hitting the gym; it’s about being seen, heard, and supported in every dimension: physical, mental, and emotional.

Holding Space: Men's Sanctuary Group was born from this truth.

This group is a sanctuary in every sense. It brings men of color together in a freeing environment where they can talk about stress, learn self-care tools, set goals, build leadership, and hold each other accountable. Whether you're navigating career shifts, fatherhood, trauma, or simply trying to keep it together, this space is for you.

Why this matters now:

  • Black and Brown men often face higher risks of preventable health issues, yet are less likely to seek support.

  • Mental health stigma and a culture of silence can lead to isolation and burnout.

  • Safe, affirming spaces change everything from confidence to community to clarity.

Ask yourself…

Who do I feel safe opening up to? If no one, why might that be?

This isn’t just about surviving. It’s about thriving. And that starts with asking honest questions, finding real support, and giving yourself permission to grow.

How do I currently manage stress and is it really working for me?

Whether you're joining Holding Space or checking in on the men in your life, your action matters. Real health starts with real conversations.
