Join FIERCE Advocates for a virtual training designed to help parents and caregivers understand the Williams Complaint process and use it to advocate for students. Williams Complaints can address concerns related to insufficient instructional materials, teacher vacancies or misassignments, and urgent facility conditions that threaten the health and safety of students or staff.
During this training, participants will learn:
What the Williams Complaint is
Who Williams is and why the landmark case remains important
How Williams protections have been used locally in WCCUSD
How to navigate the complaint process step by step
How families can take action to advocate for safe, healthy, and well-resourced schools
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their rights and a practical advocacy tool they can use when essential school conditions or resources need attention.
Esta capacitación está diseñada para padres, madres y personas cuidadoras que desean garantizar que todos los estudiantes tengan los recursos necesarios para aprender y tener éxito en la escuela. Los participantes conocerán qué es la Queja Williams, quién fue Williams y por qué este caso histórico sigue protegiendo los derechos de los estudiantes en California.
También hablaremos sobre el caso local en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de West Contra Costa (WCCUSD), qué ocurrió y cómo ha impactado el aprendizaje estudiantil.
