COMMUNICATIONS & GRANTS COORDINATOR

Nasrat is a communications strategist and storyteller whose work bridges narrative, strategy, and social impact. With experience across nonprofit, government, and international development sectors, he is passionate about building trust, amplifying underrepresented voices, and fostering understanding that fuels community led transformation.

At FIERCE, he also supports grant writing and donor communications to sustain programs that empower families.

Nasrat has led initiatives that strengthen connections between institutions and the communities they serve. His experience includes serving as Public Information Officer for San Joaquin County Public Health Services, guiding crisis communications, media engagement, and community outreach.

He also worked in communications and public engagement roles supporting education, workforce development, and conflict resolution in international settings. Earlier in his career he contributed to human rights advocacy focused on equity and inclusion for marginalized communities.

Nasrat holds a Master of Arts in Poverty and Development from the University of Sussex in England and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from San Joaquin Delta College. His career reflects a deep commitment to justice, inclusion, and community empowerment.

In addition to his professional work, Nasrat is an author whose novels explore themes of resilience, connection, and social justice. His storytelling philosophy centers on the belief that narratives have the power to inspire empathy, shift perspectives, and spark action.
